The Amber Museum in Poland proudly opened its doors this past summer. Located in Gdansk, the amber center of the Baltic, this five floor museum traces the history of amber in magic, religion, sculpture and folk art through today’s exquisite variety of amber jewelry. The existence of several thousand-year-old amber amulets is evidence that people believed in the power of Baltic amber since the earliest prehistoric times. Wearing amber is still thought to bring good luck and health, even protection against illness and curing colds!
